Blending contemporary Balinese architecture with wooden shingle roofs, ornamental ponds, hand-carved statues and stunning interiors, the design features high ceilings and full length glass doors, offering a choice of air conditioned comfort or tropical open air living. Villa Sayang will comprise a main two-storey building and two single-storey guest suites, surrounded by a lush, walled garden, complete with an 18-metre swimming pool, a ‘bale’ relaxation pavilion, 2 bale benong, 1 dining bale benong and ornamental fish ponds. The property has been designed to be as efficient and as environmentally-friendly as possible. The pool will employ an ioniser filter system that is soft on the earth and gentle on the skin. A notable feature will be the abundance of natural light and space, while the rooms and terraces will be positioned to catch the cool sea breezes even at the hottest time of year. There will be plenty of relaxation areas, affording wonderful views of the Indian Ocean accompanied by the rhythmic sound of the waves. The completion date is 30th November 2008. Upon completion, the villa will be fully equipped with the practical, luxurious and hi-tech facilities that are required for permanent living, not just for holidaying. Elegant finishes will incorporate superior imported sanitary ware, lock sets and door hardware. Stylish, deeply cushioned sofas, chairs, romantic four poster beds and teakwood furnishings will be complemented by local artwork. A top quality music system will be connected to surround-sound speakers on the entertainment terrace. Bedrooms will be fitted out with a flat LCD screen TV, complete with DVD/CD player. The villa will also be equipped with large kitchen appliances, bed linens, towels, soft furnishings, crockery, glassware, cutlery and kitchen utensils. The main two-storey building will house a living and dining room with a bar, two ground floor guest bedrooms, and a kitchen. Glass doors will open from the living room into a hidden garden with a waterfall and a koi pond. The designer kitchen will be linked to the dining area with a feature bar. It will be fully equipped with gleaming stainless steel appliances and a large imported oven with a gas hob. A service area with laundry, storage and staff quarters will be tucked away out of sight at the back of the villa. Upstairs, the dedicated master floor, complete with living area, bedroom with en-suite bathroom and Jacuzzi, and an entertainment/party terrace, will enjoy cool breezes and gorgeous west-facing views of Bali’s extensive coastline. The panoramic vista extends all the way down to Uluwatu on the island’s extreme southwest tip. The views are particularly spectacular at sunset. The spacious master bedroom, the two ground floor guest rooms, and the two self-contained single-storey guest suites will be furnished with super-king-size beds. High-quality bed-linen will be complemented by bed-runners, cushions and tiebacks, fashioned in rich fabrics. Colourful pieces of artwork will be placed in well-lit settings that show them off to their best advantage. Each bedroom will additionally feature a dressing area complete with fitted wardrobes. The luxurious master bathroom will be equipped with a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub, twin washbasins, a walk-in rainshower, bidet and a toilet. Guest rooms will be complemented by open-air garden bathrooms, each surrounded by a wall for privacy. Each will be fitted with a bathtub, twin washbasins, a toilet, and an outdoor rainshower accessed by stepping stones. Villa Sayang is set within a large, secure, walled garden, which will be well-stocked with trees and colourful flowering shrubs, including fragrant frangipanis, bougainvillea, hibiscus and coconut palms. The central focus of the garden will be the 18-metre, free form swimming pool, lined with Java stone and surrounded by a Palimanan stone and ironwood pool deck, complete with sunloungers and umbrella. The ‘bale’ relaxation pavilion, with its open sides and thatched roof, will provide a great spot for yoga, meditation, contemplation, or simple relaxation while being serenaded by the rhythmic sound of the ocean. The peaceful ambience will be further enhanced by the constant sound of running water emanating from the bubbling fountains in the adjacent ornamental ponds and the skillfully-carved, Balinese waterspouts. Every possible need will be considered with the provision of a Jacuzzi resting beside the pool, a free-standing far-infrared sauna, an outdoor rainshower, and a guest washroom and toilet. A secure parking area is located at the entrance to the property and a short footpath leads to the secluded surf beach, just 50 metres away. Villa Sayang is nestled within the beautiful agricultural belt between Kuta and Tanah Lot. It is surrounded by emerald green rice fields, while Berawa Beach, just 50 metres away, is renowned for its panoramic coastline views, legendary sunsets and world-class surf breaks. The locality is dotted with some of the most impressive villas on the island and the sweeping view is enhanced on clear days by the magical sight of the Bali’s mountain range extending from Mt Agung in the east to Mt Batukaru in the west. This out of town setting offers the double attraction of being close to the shops and restaurants of Seminyak, while also presenting a fascinating insight into the traditions of rural Bali. Cows are herded through the fields, rice is planted and harvested throughout year, and the sound of ritual music is carried on the breeze. The neighbouring Echo Beach is the place where the local community gathers in the evenings to watch the sunset. The trendy Seminyak area is just 10 minutes’ drive from the villa, presenting an exciting nightlife, together with an abundance of trendy boutiques, luxurious spas, and internationally acclaimed restaurants – including the famous ‘Ku Dé Ta’, ‘Kafé Warisan’, ‘Living Room’, ‘Hu’u’ and ‘La Lucciola’. The location of Villa Sayang offers easy access up to the mountains and rice terraces on the western slopes of the island; it is one hour from the famous cultural and artistic town of Ubud, and just 10 minutes’ drive from the Sunset Route, gateway to the eastern side of the island. It is also convenient for all of the shopping malls and main tourist attractions. The international airport is 25 minutes’ drive. Nearby sporting amenities include the ‘Canggu Club’, offering a state-of-the art gym, a 25-metre swimming pool and a tennis & squash centre.
